    Ccw Classes....certification Or Training?

Curious of everyone's opinion. Do you feel a CCW class should provide solid range training, or that it is simply a certification and any additional training is on the licensee? Train them or simply make sure they can hit the target without hurting themselves or someone else? Had this...

Do you shoot steel cased ammo?

I'm with David, I don't use steel in my handguns (I reload so it just doesn't make sense) but I have shot a ton of Wolf and Tula .223 and 7.62x39 without issues. I prefer Tula over the Wold myself.

What Kind Of Holster Do You Use For Concealed Carry?

@Dirtbike I have used plenty of those clips on holsters I make. As long as the holster is designed right those clips have plenty of retention. I have never had one pull off my belt, even with excessive gun retention molded into the holster. Here is a G43 set I did for a local guy. Both OWB for...

Help, I Loaded The Wrong Ammo (.380 Into 9mm) In My Gun, Don't Know What To Do...

At least read that thing called the owners manual! ....maybe a harsh initial response, but guns are not something to be half assed. A mistake with one can get you or someone else killed. Take the extra time to learn what you need to know to be safe.

What Are The Gun Laws In Ohio To Keep You Safe?

My understanding is yes, unless you use deadly force in defense "of another" to eliminate the threat to someone that cannot retreat from the attacker....say a mother with a young child near the shooter or an elderly person. They very likely cannot retreat and therefore could respond with deadly...

What Are The Gun Laws In Ohio To Keep You Safe?

I have been taught the 3 requirements to justify the use of deadly force are: Ability: Assailant must have the physical ability to inflict severe bodily harm or death. This factors in disproportion of force. Opportunity: he must be within proximity to inflict such harm. IE- can't shoot a guy...

What Are The Gun Laws In Ohio To Keep You Safe?

TL, While I am obviously not a lawyer, I read that to show the action of unlawful entry automatically meets the Intent/Jeoparody portion of AOJ. The intruder will still need to have the Ability and Opportunity to inflict said severe bodily harm or death to justify use of deadly force correct...

    Glock Reference Pix

Friend of mine milled the slide of his G20, mounted a Primary Arms red dot and dropped in a 6in barrel. He's dropped several good size deer with it, one of them on a dead sprint. Handly little hunting gun without the weight of a big ole' revolver!

What Are The Gun Laws In Ohio To Keep You Safe?

As stated, we have castle doctrine, but in my opinion it is HUGELY misunderstood. So many people think it means you can immediately use lethal force within your home. That is not the case. It takes the burden of proof off of you and places it on the prosecution in a self defense shooting...

    Permitless Concealed Carry

I'm with ya' Dirtbike. I'm just enjoying a thread with lots of action! We drifted away from the OP's original topic a bit.

    Permitless Concealed Carry

Time for me to play devil's advocate again..... o_O Given that it is a right granted under the Constitution, are you also against restrictions on mentally handicapped or clinically documented mental health patients from having any restrictions whatsoever on owning/concealed carrying a firearm...

    Permitless Concealed Carry

I absolutely agree that there is an inherent risk with living in a free state, but it's worth it to be free. Sometime I just like to play devil's advocate. I wish more current CCW permit holders believed in training and personal responsibility as much as you and I do!

    Permitless Concealed Carry

T.L., I fully agree with limited government and I don't like them "over reaching" as much as the next guy. However I pose this question, should we eliminate driver's ed training and allow any 16yr old to immediately be issued a license regardless of knowledge of traffic laws? Or does the minimal...

    Thoughts Appreciated..

They "feel" very very similar, as they are very very similar. Depending on your hand size you may not like the shorter grip of the G19 (although you'd have to have pretty big hands for it to be too small). I personally notice very little difference in recoil despite the size difference. It's...

    Permitless Concealed Carry

While I do and always will believe the 2nd Amendment is necessary and applies to everyone, I believe there should be a training requirement for concealed carry. First, very few people that have their CCW and been through the state required training understand the law as they should. This is...

Your Favorite Gun For Concealed Carry

The only down side is it is a proprietary magazine, at least with a G26 you can use 19 or 17 mags if you feel like it...but that's pretty minor. G42 for pocket carry, G43 for lightweight summer carry, G19 normal carry.....G34 w/light for Oh Shit carry.....gotta have your bases covered!

Your Favorite Gun For Concealed Carry

Mike, The beauty of the G42 or G43 is if you carry a larger Glock normally as I do(G19) and sounds like you do, everything feels the same. Same grip angle, same trigger, same take down, etc. I love comonality between carry weapons.

Your Favorite Gun For Concealed Carry

Mike, It's more about the functionality of the handgun vs. the size. The 1911 is a classic design and a great gun, but when it was designed we were also using bi-planes for dog fights. The advancements in firearms have put better options on the table for a lot of people. The 1911...
