Yeah it's a 686-6PP model so it's a factory ported 6"
It came from S&W with rubber Hogue grips and I made the mistake of going aftermarket. At the time, pickings for grips were somewhere between slim and none.
I dig it! I'm a sucker for ported guns, factory ported even more so.

Factory S&W grips would fit great I think if you're going for that look. But they're spendy. There's some good aftermarket out there but I'm not sure they have the same look as what you got.

Any chance of doing some fitting and making it any better? Square frame?

Its a round butt, which eliminates most of the options out there. It's not something I really planned for initially. I'm probably not going to screw with the grips since they were spendy as it was. For the amount of time it would take to hand fit and make it look good, it's just not worth it.

There are round butt options, those grips you have are round to square conversions. If you like the round butt look, Altamont makes some that won't break the bank. They may have conversion grips also. Cullina makes some nice ones but they're spendy and I believe there's a wait time. You know I like the factory round butt combats but they're stupid expensive.

Altamont was wiped out at the time. They have a few limited options right now that are worth checking out. I wouldn't mind the factory round butt combat but it looks a little strange with a 6" barrel.

Just work from home til then
I don't have that option but I also don't have to pass through that road construction on the way to work.

The fucked up thing is the other major route is down Highway 247 and they're doing a major reconstruction around the 7 bridges area so no matter which way you go, you're screwed

I ordered some Altamont last week and they told me 4-6 weeks. But I noticed their website is showing limited stock IIRC.

Round butt longer barrel does look odd at first but you get used to it lol

686 4" and 629 6" I believe
