I think IF it passes, I doubt it will, the refund won't be in there. The government is not going to give up money they already have.

Only thing I can hope is that it goes to vote soon and if it fails I would like to see something in its place that at least speeds up the process for stamps.

At best, and probably still I pipe dream, we may get some sort of faster processing.

So many negative Nellys. Positivity goes a long way and Assuming failure generally only leads to failure. If we all stand and say it will pass, over and over, bludgeoning the public with it...it will have to pass bc our elected leaders will feel as if their support rides on it. You know, much like the media (and some elected officials) keep saying the same fake shit repeatedly, endlessly, until people just believe it is true with no evidence. So, why shouldn't we do the same? If you believe in the HPA and want it to pass, go out and inform everyone, be an ambassador, be informed and informative, fight for it and give no room for it to fail.

My expectations don't at all control the outcome. I can, and do, push reps to make the right call, introduce people to cans, etc, to raise awareness. Good feelings are not going to get this to pass. That's our elected officials' jobs.

@Huddy does have a point though. If we go out and talk like we're not expecting it to pass, our elected officials feel like it's no big deal. It'll just be another poker chip in their game. They want something to pass and it falls between HPA versus something else, they'll be much more likely to sacrifice it to get support of the other bills if they think we don't expected to pass anyways. It's pretty much a freebie. However, if everybody is going around talking like it is going to pass and then it doesn't, it looks bad on them.

Meh, maybe. I think that's thinking into it too far. In all honestly though, it's not my main concern either. National reciprocity, banning these assault weapons bans, hell, even suppressor reciprocity in all 50 states, etc are what I care most about. Everybody is holding out for HPA to pass to buy any cans. It's an extra $200. Not a big deal (save the lecture, I know it's annoying, unconstitutional, yada, yada, yada). In the meantime, these guys are going out of business and going through lay-offs. Not to mention, having to cut back on R&D.

Im wondering if they would remove the new regulations from 41F before they'd pass the HPA. I also saw that the federal land subcommittee listened to the SHARE act today as well.

Short part of it :

Sec. 1701. Short title.
Sec. 1702. Equal treatment of silencers and firearms.
Sec. 1703. Treatment of certain silencers.
Sec. 1704. Preemption of certain State laws in relation to firearm silencers.
Sec. 1705. Destruction of records.
Sec. 1706. Amendments to title 18, United States Code.
Sec. 1707. Imposition of tax on firearm silencers or firearm mufflers

Yeah I heard they threw that in there as a little reach around! Hope it makes a solid deal!

Looks like house subcommittee reviews this week. The good news is that it has been included with the SHARE act.

{Duncan has now included the suppressor legislation in the Sportsmen Heritage and Recreational Enhancement Act (SHARE Act) and “a ‘discussion draft’ of SHARE Act will be reviewed by…[the subcommittee] on Wednesday.”}

Sadly I still don't think it will pass. I think the republicans will pass some pro-gun law to appease their voting base but I think the HPA is not going to be that law.
