If you care about keeping your baffles squeaky clean buy stainless and dip them.

Yeah, but it seems like someone would have created a coating for aluminum that will make cleanup easier with rimfire cans. There are already a lot of aluminum baffles out there, and it is nice to keep the weight down.

It's molten carbonized lead homie. It's going to stick.

I realize that, but if it were possible to make the AL less porous and allow for easier cleanup that'd have to be a benefit.

I wasted a bunch of time and money worrying about keeping my rimfire cans clean. Now I don't even worry about it. They suppress better when dirty. I very once and a while I take them apart, brush them off and put them back together.

I get it, but I'm the guy that changes his full synthetic oil in the car every 4 months or 3500 miles, and gets excited about gun cleaning products lol. Dammit, now I'm googling gun grease.

Aluminum suppresses better. Biggest suppressor mistake I have made was upgrading my baffle stack to stainless.

I have not noticed that at all. I could only imagine that the tone would have changed and the new baffles changed designs in some way.

What is this dip that u speak of?

Half and half hydrogen peroxide and white vinegar. Eats away lead weld. Don't use it on aluminum as it will eventually erode the aluminum as well.

Only problem is that it is toxic stuff. Makes lead acetate. Use gloves and don't just dump it down your drains/backyard. Work miracles for cleaning up 22 cans though.

Don't use "the dip". It's horrifically toxic, and proper disposal is pretty darned tough.

Horribly toxic LOL. About 1/1000th as toxic ad what's in your car battery and 1/100th as toxic as what the bug guy sprays.
