I really hope someone from Taurus stumbles across this thread.

Me too... My own experience with Taurus revolvers is a sample size of three- all belonging to friends. During range trips with me, all three locked up and would no longer operate. Like, they had to take home a loaded revolver with the cylinder frozen in place.

I never had an issue with any of mine. But I didn't keep them either. I just like my Smiths. My mom and dad both have G2s. But I like my Glock 26. I don't know. Why have an imitation when you can have the real thing?

The ones I saw fail in person all had the same problem- no firing pin return spring. The firing pin would slip forward and stick out of the frame and it would catch on the rim of the brass, locking up the cylinder.

Mine had a similar issue. Sent it back twice. The third time they destroyed it and offered me a new gun. However they didn't have the titanium ultra lite in stock so they gave me a choice between waiting an unspecified length of time(they eluded to months) or take the much heavier, much uglier, much less expensive blue version. I took that, listed it for sale that night bnib on ODT. Sold it, my first trade on ODT. 6 months later the ATF is at my house looking for it. My only personal experience with Taurus was my biggest effing nightmare.

My brother bought a TCP aka ptjam-o-matic 3000.

I have a M85 I bought new years ago. First time shooting it, it locked up as well. Sent it back to them and they noted the barrel cylinder clearance was way too tight and replaced the cylinder with a new one. It was shipped back to me and has shot fine for the 100ish rounds I have ever put through it. Will never buy another one after that though.

Wow. I agree with others. No way these will sell for more than $500. Is it really possible for a company to be that dumb? Or do they know something we don't..

Now that I think about it, I don't personally know of anyone first hand who has owned a Taurus and NOT had issues with it.

I had a PT92 that I never had any issues with. The PT92 is actually a good gun. I preferred it over the couple of Beretta 92's that I've owned. It's the only Taurus that I've ever owned though.

I've had a Titanium Public Defender, Poly Public Defender, and a Raging Judge Magnum. Never had a cylinder lock up or anything else for that matter. I shot them a good bit too. I think my Dad's G2 had one FTF with me. But that was in the first two mags. Maybe we're just doing it wrong. :noidea:

That was a Taurus 1911 we were shooting that day at my house. Its seen thousands and thousands of rounds

Remember I was shocked that out of all my high dollar 1911s the Taurus was the only one that barrel fit in.

That said, you can't import an AR so if I had to guess these are probably being OEM manufactured for them by Diamondback.

Didn't they buy Diamondback?
