I'm still new to the suppressor world and got myself familiar with the rimfire stuff, but now I'm on to 9mm and soon .30. Want to drop some coin on a fair amount of 9mm to run in my 5.5" barrel SBR & HK pistol. From what I gather all 147gr. will be subsonic in this setup, but is it worth it to buy subsonic specific ammo? Is it really that much cleaner/quieter? I've looked at different options through freedom munitions, but reviews seem to be mixed on them. Anyone got some nuggets of wisdom to drop on me here?

anything 147gr should be good. Stay away from the federal "suppressor" stuff. 147 is quieter
Is the federal suppressor stuff dirty or does it jam and misfire. It seems to be fairly reasonable on the price.

The federal "suppressor" ammo is 124gr, but subsonic. 147 is quieter. My favorite right now is the Prvi 158gr. Very quiet.

I did come across some 158gr. somewhere and was wondering if it would make a difference. A bit pricey if I remember right.

I never planned to go with 115. My question was basically is the suppressor specific or subsonic labeled ammunition worth the extra cost vs. standard 147gr. loads.

Got it. Subsonic labeled ammo is just saying Fps is less than 1126ft/sec. Any 147gr will do as its inherently subsonic 980ft/sec. Same with 230gr 45ACP.
