Ran 5.4 at Turkey Mountain. No back pain, finished way faster than I expected. So happy!

2.1 miles at lunch, downtown Tulsa, 7:28/mile.

81 degrees yesterday, 42 today. Wind out of the north feels like winter.

That's a good pace, esp with the elevation. Oh to be young (er) again.....
My running buddies are all 10-14 years younger than me, and one is a personal trainer. It helps a lot to run with the fast kids.

Same here. I turn 52 next week, but my cohorts are all in their mid-thirties, It's fun to give them something to aspire to, lol. The upside to it is, when you beat those young guys, you can brag. When they beat you, you get to say, yeah, but I'm an old man....

Didn't run this weekend, did a couple hikes and two deer drags, though...

I wouldn’t necessarily call it running. :)
It takes time to get your body used to the abuse. Don't give up, it gets better trust me. I used to not be able to make it a mile before it felt like I was puking up my lungs covered in blood.

Yep - and when I was running at the park, it was because I needed cardio. Once I switched to trails, it's because I love it.

That is an accurate picture of me.
You can do it. You sure don't have to be skinny as a rail to be an excellent distance runner. A couple guys I run with are far from "petite", and I also run with one of the guy's dad (on the far left) who is 62 and still does very well (ran a 26 minute 5k a month ago in Candler Park on a super hilly course).
