Anyone here ever had a lost or stolen NFA item?

I have always wondered how it would play out, I imagine it's a freakin' nightmare!

It's no different than any other lost or stolen item. The ATF says that you must notify them "immediately upon discovery" of the theft or loss but there is no penalty for not doing so.

I heard tell of this one fella that lost all his weapons in a lake. Probably just another internet hoax!

I had a dream last night that my safe was cut open and ALL my shit was gone. That was a crappy feeling until I was awake enough to realize it was a dream,.

If no foul play is expected the ATF generally thanks you for reporting. Then, you never hear from them until the gun is used in a crime or someone attempts to transfer them.

If foul play is expected they start taking things.
