I’m sure most of you are doing it wrong, so I’m going to save you from yourselves.

I’ll try to use small words and plenty of pics for you goons.

You're welcome in advance.

These instructions are for a SilencerCo Sparrow, which is a monocore. I don’t know much about baffle stacks, but I’m sure somebody will chime in here and fill in the blanks.

Here’s what you need

First, coat the baffles and the inside of the clamshells with Vaseline. I prefer the Creme Brûlée scent, but any Vaseline will do. The Vaseline is thick enough to stay put and not run off or dry up in storage. It eliminates all first round pop and smells amazing.

Next, put some copper anti seize on any threads. It makes it easier to thread the can back off after you’re finished with your mindless mag dumps. I know you brutes are probably used to just gorilla fisting everything and fighting to get it back off, but I’m teaching you to use your BRAINS.

And finally, put a thin coat of high temp grease on the outside of the clamshells before sliding everything back together. This will make disassembly much easier next time.

And there you have it!

Yeah not going to put the red creme brûlée on mine. Light coat of fire clean is all I’ll do after a tumble in media for a couple hours bout every thousand rounds.

I've shot thousands through this since last time it was cleaned. After getting it apart, the Thompson center bore butter did a great job keeping the core clean.

I use dip since my monocore and clamshells are stainless. I’ve considered getting a tumbler though just to try.

I’m telling you though, the Vaseline works for FRP and it smells soooooo good.

Looks pretty good for thousands of rounds. I try not to let mine go much past 2,000 between cleanings.

I was surprised... this is the first cleaning after coating with the bore butter. Not pictured is the pile of crap that fell out of the tube.

First time I cleaned the thing was awful. I had to slowly and carefully chip out lead and burned powder. This time I literally wiped it with a piece of rag.

Wire pulling lube works good too.
Yep, I just squirt a bit of wire pulling gel that I have in a hand sanitizer bottle in the blast chamber and give it a quick shake to clear the bullet path. Works great and isnt a huge mess with gloves and q tips.
