Not much of a whiskey drinker, but had my fair share of Woodford Reserve on Delta flights & in the DL Skyclub since they claim it's their "top shelf" (but free) whiskey .... I like it, certainly more than Jack as I can't stand the sour mash stuff.... Definitely won't say it's top shelf level (that's already proven if Delta is selling as "top shelf")
Yeah, sour mash... just can't do it. We used to ferment corn for catfish bait (as in general area bait). Every time i smell jack daniels, that's all i can think about.
The store had angels envy when i bought the basil hayden. But it was about $50 per fifth.

Gotcha, I've been thinking about a KAC, Geissele DD or a LaRue just for shits and giggles, but haven't come across many folks who have had The SD or LaRue to compare
Same here, my Grandfather lived on Buckeye Lake back in Ohio, everytime I smell sour mash, I think of him with his damned "Catfish balls", lmao
I will say though, my Grandfather could make one hell of a catfish ball, he'd use Wheaties and some other ingredients, guaranteed to work .... probably the reason I won't eat catfish to this day .... I was raised on yellow-belly/channel cats
