My wife drinks bottled water or filtered water only. I drink right out of the tap, from home or work. The United States has quality, safe drinking water. I ain't paying more than my monthly water bill unless it's a convenience issue.
True , Cobb county here in GA has the best water in the state , the surrounding county’s have really good water to, the guidelines are really tough,

Strange thing about Dr Pepper.
Depending on what part of the country you’re in, it can be a Coke, or Pepsi product.

Wait whuh I thought Dr P had its own TM separate from and not owned by PepsiCo so I guess coke plants could make it in other parts of the country. Never thought they would do it that way but I guess it’s possible.

Lol pretty much anytime I get a call for pinhole leaks in copper pipes it’s in Cobb County. There’s something up with their water that is corroding through copper pipes. It’s crazy

FWIW some of that is a combination of pH, water treatment, and quality of the piping. Water can have some kind of phosphate added to it that will protect copper pipes. When I lived in CA this was a huge issue because the main builder of many communities used substandard copper piping and combined with the high levels of treatment, leaks would happen all the time. My condo had 3 huge leaks in 6 years (that I know of). It was crazy shit to see my ceiling start to collapse because there was a 50 gal bubble over my living room.

Yeah they always blame it on the grounding system and the electrician but it’s more water and copper problem then stray voltage or electricity exciting particles within the water

Yeah if water's pH is too basic it can tend to pull ions from the copper to stabilize itself #scyence

I tell them the same thing everytime
Get rid of the copper and you won’t have pinhole leaks anymore. Just replace everything with PEX fuck it

30 years ago PEX was terrible and it was outlawed I believe. I also think that the majority of the problems were actually installer error and not the fault of the product itself. I see it's been back on the market for quite some time again now?

There's a reason why swimming pool piping is all 2" white PVC. The shit lasts forever even outdoors and can withstand really fucked up water chemistry.

That was similar to pex but not pex, and the problem wasn't the pipe, but the fittings/connectors used to install it. Current stuff (pex) can expand like 3x (or more I don't remember) it's size before busting

I remember we called it pex...it was red and blue for hot and cold...the new stuff is all gray? The proprietary fittings and the crimpers to install it was a pain, especially in corners of a room. You didn't really have the room to maneuver those giant crimpers and keep the band square when you crimped it.
