Five different colors and styles of followers. No idea what the difference is besides the obvious.

It's mostly about how old the mags are, from top to bottom.
Black follower- very old mag from the 80's no longer authorized for training or combat.
Green followers- newer issue when they started doing away with the black follower, authorized for training.
The bottom 3 - The tan follower was starting to be issued about 15 years ago, but has been discontinued. Not authorized for training or combat, that mag is notorious for the follower get stuck in the middle of the mag, when loaded with more than 20 rounds of ammo.
The light green and dark gray followers are knock offs of the tan mag followers, I don't think they were issued, at least not in the Army.

THATS A NICE ONE
Browning 2000 20ga with 2¾ barrel and 3" mag barrel.
Both 28" Imp Cyl.
These run great after a flat or 2 of shells to break in but can be a pain in the ass to get the first 50 rounds or so to cycle.
Roy King can make it run like a 1100 Remy for sure.
He went through my last one of these in 12ga and it ran flawless

That's pretty cool to know. The top mag with black follower is a fairly recent manufacture Surefeed 20. The green follower is 2005 or 2006 dates Okay Industries manufacture. No idea about the blue one, but that mag has a bunch of dicks cerakoted onto it.

Assuming that all of the followers were in the orginal magazine. Now every issue mag is getting the "MagPul" followers, or what the Army calls a " Israeli " follower.

When they changed the shape/weight of the bullet, the follower design changed----Chris Bartocci from Small Arms Solutions.
