I was looking at a Mavic 2 at Best Buy last night - 999, 1399, 1549.....options, price differences....hate to buy not knowing - lot of cash for a toy.
Check out the secondary market.

I saw a DJI Inspire for $900 on facefuck marketplace. That's a stupid amount of drone for the $

I haven’t had a chance to fiddle with the Mavic 2. Mavic is good for taking pics/videos but for distance I pull out the P3S with upgraded antennas. I will look at my flight records to upload

The spark is in an odd place because it still has a gimbal and lots of features, but it's packed into a small frame so it has to work a little harder.

I've got a set of MAS props coming. They're supposed to be a little quieter and buy a bit more air time.
I’ve had a spark as well. Cheap but you definitely get what you pay for. I was all into drones I had wind apps, signal apps everything lol

@Tedkennedy get a Phantom 3 Standard or Professional to start. Make sure you’re interested in it before you buy a Mavic I’ll ask a few buddies who have the Mavic 2 and try to get a “review”

I'm thinking of one as sort of dual purpose - #1 to make videos, #2 to scout for pigs. Probably mostly used for #1, will be flown over water, so it needs to be dependable. Had a cheap one, won't do that again.

With DJI the ideal circumstance is over water not in a urban area messes with signal. Sounds like you should get a P3S decent pics let me find some for ya

P3S is a beast and can be modded. I never had any issues out of mine. Return to home is your friend and make sure to set your height above anything you may encounter many have lost due to that.

My MAS props got here today. I didn’t get the Spark in the air, but I installed the props. Just spinning the motor with my finger, they seem to spin a little more and push more air.

Got the spark up and felt a little bold. These 3 are from 120m ±86m. The MAS props seem to get it moving a little faster and I got about 12:30 out of that battery instead of 10:45-11:00 A7DB5578-C3CF-4F37-B0AB-4966CF1151E7.jpeg 2D637F5C-E3FF-45F8-99A6-B02E27F47F27.jpeg B1955A52-5E31-4428-9EF9-14027647CB4E.jpeg

Well, picked up a Mavic mini at Costco today and I'm selling The spark to my buddy this weekend.

The mini has about twice the range and twice the flight time. The Costco bundle also has an extra battery. So, over the one battery I have for the spark, I'll get about 4x the flight time without having to recharge.
It's also 249g so it's exempt from a lot of the FAA nonsense.

I charged the first battery and did all the firmware updates, now the second battery is charging. Hopefully, this rain will fuck off tomorrow so I can get some flight time in.
