Thank you! It took me a while to find the time to get it done, but I'm glad I did it. I would recommend it to any one that is interested. I would however suggest using the stencil kits from montactical.com instead of the Etsy stuff. His stencils look a little easier to apply. Just an observation...

I never understood the need to keep something looking like new. If you use your gear, kit, whatever you want to call it, it is going to show signs of wear and tear.

It's just rattle can so it isn't going to compare to anything like ceracoat or duracoat. I have noticed that it is tough enough though. I haven't seen any scratches from my first range trip where I confirmed zero and did so "El Prez" drills with the rifle

I just didn't feel like masking the optic and flashlight. As far as the lower parts and delta ring, those are minor parts that won't really be seen any way. For me, this is just a way to personalize the rifle. I didn't intend for this to a "real-world" application mod.

I haven't noticed any smell coming from the finish, it is more matte in appearance though than the standard bluing from the manufacturer.

I love the kryptek pattern on rifles, knives, pistols, just about anything other than kit. Not too many people have it here in Georgia, I haven't seen any in my area particularly, that doesn't mean it isn't here, I just haven't seen it.

@DarthVader thanks for the info! Really good stuff. That video was what pushed me towards the Venom. It was one of the lowest flash signatures and I got it from primaryarms.com for only $40! I think thats a good deal

Nothing really against the A2 birdcage, I agree it does a great job of reducing flash and dirt signature but I'm building this for me and really like the look of other flash hiders. After spending 18 months in the desert with an A2 cage I wanted something different and wanted a totally custom build.
