I had a USC and SL8 back in 2000. I agree on the recoil of the USC, lots of recoil and muzzle flip for a .45. Accuracy was decent, even with the spongy trigger.

Ah, ok. You should check out the AR set ups for prairie dogs. That's really more in line with the type of shooting you'll be doing. You might get some good ideas from some of those folks. I can't help out much there either as I mainly shot a Tikka heavy barreled 22-250.
