FWIW, my Springfield 1911 was always 100%. Even fed hollow points. But it got sold because the frame may have said USA, it was stamped Imbel Brazil on the frame under the grip.

Just got home from a very soggy wedding that was hastily moved to their barn. But it was nice.

Wenge is spelled right i think. Some people call it "weng" but i prefer "wingy" It finishes almost black with stripes.

Good idea... but i don't have one handy. I think i like this better. Probably add a cord wrap in the middle.

If you want to save a few 12" long pieces, I'll stop by and get them (eventually when I'm over there). I'll make you something neat with one of them. The wood is supposed to be pink/teal/tan when you turn it. I've never had any to use before, but I've seen finished pieces.

Ya know, if the pieces are at least 2" diameter, that some great turning wood after it dies for about 6 months. Edit- if it doesn't split into tiny pieces when drying.

That's a new one to me. They really stick down a long way. You can see two vertical pieces of sheet metal (i assume the "hinges") when he shows the paper towel holder.

I'm poor enough that i just drink tap water. Saves money for buying bright colored wood... got the first coat of oil on this box and lid.

Making some fancy boxes. Those will be pieces for the lid.
