I've been considering giving up my 390 to get a 391.

The extra weight may be one of the reasons it absorbs recoil so much better than the 390. As far as spare parts goes, the 20ga. 1100 I have is the same one I've been shooting dove and clays with since I was a kid in the 80s. It's going to go to my sons. My 12ga has had thousands upon thousands...

It's a good gun, I picked up a nice wood stock one on ODT a while back for $500. I still think the 1100 is better...

They have some of the best deals from time to time. Right now they have ZQI 7.62x51 750rds. $299.95 & Winchester 115 FMJ 750rds. $139.99. I may jump on some of that x51. Haven't found much under $.50 lately.

Well they've gotten plenty of my money that's for sure. I don't need no fancy "ballistics" to tell me that RIP is the best goddamn ammo there ever was.

    Dammit!

I had one approved late last week. Took 3-1/2 months.

Oconee County Sheriff Body Cam Shoot

I'd sure be curious to know what led up to that. They were calling him by name, I'm assuming they were in his house?

And that was before the 41p announcement rush. They're probably getting longer now. An Efile form 1 took 3-1/2 months. I went to Dobbs and picked up my .30 today. My second SBR got approved today and @DoglegArms has my Revolution in jail, so I'm done until I have FA money.

When you get it done just make sure to post plenty of pictures on the Internet. You know, where it is, how it works, what's inside....

This was gunkote done in the toaster oven in my garage.

Because I'm a Tightwad and have Gay(awesome) Tastes

I'd love to tell you that I came to that knowledge as a result of a lifetime of refinishing experience, but like most things, I learned it the hard way. "If at first you don't succeed, google it and then try again" That's my motto.

Because I'm a Tightwad and have Gay(awesome) Tastes

I DIY with gunkote. I use a paint gun, but you can get it in an aerosol can and it bakes on much like Cerakote. I use a little $15 harbor freight sandblast gun to prep them with. It doesn't matter what you put on if it's not prepped right. Fine grit aluminum oxide is ideal. When you bake it you...

    Sonic cleaner solutions

Purple power won't take anodizing off. Maybe something about the ultrasonic, but my guess is shoddy job on the coating.

    Sonic cleaner solutions

I put aluminum in mine. I've never actually seen or heard of anyone firsthand who had aluminum damaged by a sonic cleaner. Purple power is fine for aluminum. Regular simple green is not, but the extreme simple green aircraft cleaner is a beast and is specifically designed not to harm aluminum.

There's no NIB with 1100s. You want one from the 70s or 80s. They're pretty much a dime a dozen. I picked my last one up on ODT right before the great SET migration. You're welcome to try mine any time. We are pretty far apart, but hopefully I'll be getting that can from you before too long.

The last time I did clean and oil one was after a morning of sporting clays where we got caught in the rain. It was not my gun, so I gave it a good once over. Other than that, I usually just do an oily rag wipe down. Mine aren't exactly beauty queens, but they're nice.
