    Home Defense shotgun

I've got a Remington Express 12 gauge. It has an 18-inch barrel. I keep it loaded with 00 buckshot. It's pretty stock, except I did polish the chamber, replaced the MIM extractor with a Volquartsen extractor, and replaced the cheesy orange plastic follower with a Nordic Teflon coated...

Took Elsie to the dentist this morning in a Blackhawk Size 3 pocket holster. She's the perfect root canal pistol!

    What are you carrying today?

A brand new S&W 442 snub (no lock) I got last week, and my LCP. I picked up a few Bianchi Speed Strips that I carry (as the speed loaders I have for my S&W Model 37 don't work well with the 442...grips aren't relieved enough) However, when I carry two small guns like this, I consider Elsie...

    S&W Model 10-8 .38 Special

Sweet! Congrats to you Slowhand. I've got it's brother...made approx the same time frame. Mine has a 4-inch heavy barrel and is nickel plated. It was the first handgun I ever bought...a keeper...and they handle +P rounds for SD with no problem. Have fun!

Interesting product for (cough, cough) Older Eyes

Appears to work kind of like the aperture of a camera lens. The smaller the lens aperture (hole the light goes through), the more depth of field (focus) you have. The larger the aperture, the less depth of field. But at $30 a pop, I could punch a hole through a piece of masking tape with a...

What is the favorite gun you own - and why?

Like your Ithaca Model 37 shotgun Rich! They still make them...and they are expensive...but you get what you pay for. Like my Remington 870 Express pump, but I don't think they are as high quality as they used to be...the Ithaca's are though! Merry Christmas you old coot...and the rest of...

What is the favorite gun you own - and why?

It would be my first year of production, 101-year old Colt 1911. It was my grandfather's, then my dad's, and now mine. I wrote a rather lengthy story about it awhile back on the other forum. I still shoot it a few times a year. Shoots great! I only use hardball in it. I've shot over a few...

    1942 Springfield M1 Garand

Very nice Bubba! It's hard to find those 1940 era ones. My good friend bought one through the CMP a few years ago. His was built in 1954. The op rod in it was slightly bent (but still functional), so he had another one put in and keeps the old one as a spare. They are a blast to shoot...

    Federal Premium 180gr HST

Yogi likes the Gold Dots! I do too (in my LCP). However, I haven't been able to find them lately locally, so I've been using Critical Defense and Hydra-Shoks for SD. They are good too, but like you, I really prefer the Speer products. Sixtiesstill - I think any premium SD ammo from a major...

How many rounds have you fired through your LCP...

Hey Trigger...are you still using the original extractor, guide rod, and springs...or have you replaced some of those parts during that awesome round count? Just curious. :)

Yet another reason why I love Rugers!

Completely agree. Ruger Customer Service is Number 1! Here's an example too. I have never had to purchase replacement screws (as I've buggered-up a few with incorrect screwdrivers) for any of my Ruger rifles or handguns). Ruger has always sent them to me free of charge. Haven't had to buy...
