Apparently close enough to a suppressor to get the attention of the wrong people.

I know I’m just a little late to this party, but there are plenty of “muzzle brakes” still on eBay.

Looks legit.

It might be stupid, but unless there's a tube to go with it, I don't see how it would be illegal.
I’m pretty sure Sig tried release a “brake” kinda like these several years ago with the idea that the brake wouldn’t have any restrictions on it, but there would also be a tube that would be an NFA item that you could get a stamp for and buy to go over the brake to make it a suppressor.

The ATF said NO.

I remember that lol. It kind of pissed me off more on the principle that they banned it just because it 'would be easy' to make it something else.... Thats bullshit imo.

HOWEVER, I am also pretty against pushing their buttons with the constant BS that the gun industry comes up with just because they want to slap it in the face of the BATFE etc... Poking the bear just to be a jackass isn't going to get us anywhere as a group of law abiding gun lovers.

Yeah, they love the whole “constructive intent” thing.

It’s a shame, because this would have been BAD ASS

I agree, however it wouldn't be a problem if they didn't put us in the position where we have to start discussions on the internet to try to figure out what's legal and what's not only to have to submit an inquiry to them and have them decide on a whim.

Dude, US postal inspectors are no joke. They're legit Federal LEO that have jurisdiction over anything involving the post office .
Aren’t they somehow affiliated with the secret service? Someone stole checks from my business to one of my vendors out of the mail and tried to cash them across state lines. To the best of my recollection, it was the secret service the bank called in on that one. Same with counterfeit cash.

I don't believe they're tied in any way other than both being Feds. Secret Service handles things that have to do with money though.

Arrestee in original story was busted for same thing 4 years ago. I don't care how you feel about the ATF (I actually do); but stupid people need to be arrested.

Without provisions for attaching a sleeve to the core, I'm with you. It looks like he was trying to capitalize on the monocore look, but I don't see a way that he intended a body sleeve to be attached.
