Either way, can you add a friend/family member to a Trust as a Trustee, then they could use any Class III NFA stuff that's owned by the trust?

Am I living in fantasy land?

You sure can. As far as I know it's as simple as adding it to your trustees page of your trust.

I had Dean?Dave? anyway at NFA lawyers do mine, and that's what he told me. I added a friend that shoots with me regularly, just to cover him in the unlikely event I'm carted away to the hospital or something and he's left with class 3 items at the range.

I think mine was 199trust.com but either way, is there some legal process for updating a trust?

Very little is required for a trust to be valid, but notarizing addendums is a cheap, good idea.
