Ran 10 miles of hills at Turkey Mountain yesterday. Turned 52 today.

I always try to do a "birthday run", as I remember my uncle Don (Korean War Vet) running 7 miles on his 50th birthday. He was a great dad, husband, friend. One of the better influences and role models in my life. RIP Don.

Damn youre fast... If I took a pic youd laugh haha
It doesn't matter how fast you are, it's just getting out and doing it. Some people go for speed, some for distance, some for both. It's just up to you what you want it to be. I started back running about 11-12 years ago, and couldn't make it a mile while averaging about a 12:30/mi pace.

Word. I have been loving being back in the gym. It makes me feel better every day. Well other than this ridiculous soreness for the time being lol.

I dont run much bc of my shins though. I have to cycle and do other things to reallyyyyyy get warmed up before im able to run more than a half mile at once.

My shins hurt for almost a full year before they became accustomed to it. It'll come if you keep at it.

Interesting. Its worse on concrete of course but comes on either way. If I bike for 5-10 miles first then run its like 90% of the shin pain never comes on. Weird.

Yeah, that is weird. At least you've found a means for controlling it. Running downhill is the worst for shinsplints. Maybe that's not your issue though, it might just be muscle soreness. That would explain why biking first helps.

Ran a couple miles at lunch yesterday, 7:33 pace. Kinda out of my routine this week, and rifle season starts Saturday...

Lol, yeah it does. Although, as a father of a daughter, I'm sure you don't like that definition. Understandable...
Used to do lots of bareback riding as a kid, was even the county fair grand champion senior showman and reserve champion in the halter class, lol. Jokes inbound.
