THIS is the way that the assault on the 2A community and gun culture will happen. They know that they can't just go for the throat and outlaw guns, however they don know that they can go for the nuts and squeeze where it hurts the most, the wallet.

I don't think so. I just think that companies are trying to sterilize their client base as much as possible to avoid future media scrutiny. I doubt they give a damn about gun laws (they care about $$$-and that's it), but they want to avoid headlines like "US Bank lends 10 million to Assault Rifle Manufacturer".

Keep believing that bro... and before you know it, slowly but surely they will squeeze the life out of gun owners and gun businesses.

Now get on the train sheep, we're taking you to a nice vacation camp to enjoy.

If you trust in free market economics (which I only slightly do) someone will rush to fill the void. Pulling out of providing financial instruments for doing business still doesn't affect legislation. Pot in Colorado is a cash only business, and doing very well. The firearms industry is a far cry from cash only.

Also, the title of his video is incorrect. It is not U.S. Bank (United States Bank) it's US Bank. (The US doesn't mean anything official) There is no government affiliation with this institution.

Thus why I am asking for us to crowd source a list of Pro 2A financial organizations...see the original post.

They are essentially creating a credit rating style risk management strategy for determining which clients have the greatest chance of damaging their reputation. Porn shops and drug paraphenalia type shops are also on the list. It's pretty awful that legal businesses that have a tremendous amount of legal oversight, such as firearms, would be lumped into that category, but that's reality.

Good luck. It doesn't have anything to do with the second amendment, and associated opinions..it has to do with risk management.

I just read two articles on the subject, and no fewer than six lending institutions were called out by name as having similar practices to US bank.

They're all part of the Federal Reserve system. They're all quasi- government banks.

Agreed, but it's still not U.S. Bank. Those types of inaccuracies drive me crazy. It may not seem important, but it is.

.

This. It's nothing new I had several banks and CC processing companies that wouldn't work with me simply because I was a gun store and was considered high risk.

I understand that it's an algorithm for risk assessment, similar to how an insurance company assesses risk. It's nothing personal, but if you have speeding tickets on your record, and have a history of at fault accidents you're going to pay more or be dropped from coverage altogether. It's not that they think you are a bad man, it's that you possess to much risk.
