If that oil filter adapter was used hot it would need to have a serial # on it right. I think so

If that's the case you're outta pocket about $250 to be safe right. Well plus having it engraved.

The adapter and filter go together. If a non-licensee form 1's it, you can't replace the filter without submitting another form 1 and tax stamp. If you bought something like the econo-can, it has to go back to the manufacturer to replace the filter.
