The need to change things in your gun?

Maybe I am just overly cautious, but I would prefer not to be in court explaining why I jazzed up my self defense firearm. Do I really need a "hair trigger" on a DA firearm? Do I really need Zombie Killer paint job? I would prefer to only have to explain that I am a law abiding citizen with a...

Known sources for ammunition - Availability Board

Cabela's is opening a new store in Greenville, SC tomorrow. I attended a pre-opening by invitation event yesterday and they had ammo like the old days. Row after row of boxes of ammo and plastic ammo cans filled with bulk name brand ammo. Don't expect it to last but tomorrow will be a big day if...

    The Bond Arms derringer

I have a Bond Arms derringer in .45 Colt/ 3" .410 with a 4.25" barrel. It is the Snake Slayer IV model. I got this and one other derringer, in a straight trade for an antique long gun at a local gun show. I have since fired it with both the .45 Colt and the 3" .410 ga at a standard pistol...

    Recommendations for a powder scale

I use both digital and balance beam. I generally weigh a half-dozen charges on both to make sure that I am dead on. Then I just check every 20th round with the digital. The reason for checking is that the weight of the powder in the measure tower changes as you reduce the amount. Not too much...

    Pistol range loses again

Our outdoor range has just added a section of three stations to the pistol range with target hangers at 7 and 10 yards. Based upon several requested from members, they have opened these three stations to air guns. Some of the folks use them for their own air gun target shooting and some are...

NY should limit people to 2-pack beer

I once worked for a company that had a free fitness center for its employees. A great benefit. The manager was an ex college football coach. He told the employees that gathered for the opening of the center that we all should.... "watch what you eat, don't drink alcohol, don't drive fast...

    Shootin range deserted...

Our range is seeing fewer people and shorter sessions. We had a Gun Show here in January and there were sales on ammo by the case. I was just over helping a friend set up before tomorrow's show and there are currently booths going up advertising that they will "Buy Ammo". How things change in a...

I have a good problem! Looking for feedback/advice

I don't agree with raising rates due to reduce high demand. That sounds a little like taking advantage of a situation. Most people will appreciate your situation as long as you communicate well. Knowing that your product is first rate and therefore in demand should help keep customers patient as...

    Shootin range deserted...

It seems that as soon as I get the idea to go to the range, a nagging thought also pops up. How much loaded ammo in that caliber do I have left? And, how is my stock of primers, bullets and powder? I do not like the current environment, but we have all been here before.

    New caliber gun?

I believe that the next evolution in firearms will be a completely new way to launch a projectile. The primer, case and bullet system began back in the 1860's and is still with us today. All of the components have evolved to the max, but the basic system is still 150 years old. I thought that...

It looks like my reloading days are over and I just started

After the last "shortage" in 2008 caused by the outcome of the election, I ran short of everything. For the last two or three years I have been slowly buying some extra primers, powder and bullets in my favorite calibers as they went on sale or were available. I did not "hoard", just stocked up...

    No good deed goes unpunished.

The woman who is suing is an employee. She should be limited to Worker's Compensation and unable to sue her employer. In a sane world, but not MA; in MA they need to worry.

    .380 brass question

I reload all calibers and find that the cost is less than "store bought" but not as cheap as it used to be (what is?) Just let the word out to your friends and ask them to save brass. Any caliber is fine as you can trade it. Check on Ebay for used dies (they are generally not used enough to...

    Overall cartridge length

COL for loaded rounds is always important, but don't forget the case "trim" length before reloading. Most semi-autos seat on the case mouth and it must be within a reasonable tolerance.

New Taurus SS M605 .357 Magnum range report

You got a great deal. I have an older 605 in .357 that has been flawless since day one. As much as I like auto pistols (and I have a few), when something goes bump in the night I grab for my revolver. Something about a revolver that says "dependable" to me.

    Which to carry??

As long as I am still around to actually have to worry about replacing a firearm that I just used to save my life or the lives of my family, I will buy them by the dozen.

    Yep, PF9

A PF9 followed me home one day to be introduced to my LC9. I am having a hard time figuring out which one I like best. So far seems equal all around. I ordered an Aholster IWB for the PF9 which should arrive in the next day or two. I already have an Aholster for my LC9 and for my LCP, both in...
