So I'm looking to get an AK. I've been told to check to see if the front sight or gas block is canted. The sight is easy enough but I know NOTHING about rifles and don't know how to check the gas block. Can anyone tell me what to do or post pictures. Thanks.

Its usually just the front sight that is canted, not the gas block. The other thing to check for is excessive mag wobble.

I've had 3 WASRs, only 1 with a slightly canted sight that was easily corrected, all mags had just a slight wobble (nothing extreme enough to worry about, but can vary with different types of mags).

If you're going for a WASR, you shouldn't be expecting $700 AK quality anyway, but I've not met a WASR that wasn't reliable as hell
