No, this is not Presidential Election related.

Which relatively new cartridges are still around that shouldn't be?
I'm truly amazed that the .45 GAP hasn't gone extinct, and that it has any type of following whatsoever.

First off, it's not a commentary on their effectiveness or practicality...just a redundancy more or less.

1. 45 GAP
2. 17 Hm2
3. 327 Federal

I kinda like 22 tcm. I'm all for speedy, bottle necked pistol rounds.

Why not just use 22-250 ? I'd like to get a rifle in that caliber, just for a range toy.
Yeah, I agree. The original appeal was that the shorter, wider column of powder would provide for a more consistent and uniform burn, equaling greater potential for accuracy (all other things being equal).

While 6.8 spc doesn't have much usefulness, it's not a bad caliber for a deer gun built on an AR platform.

^^^^ True, its just that I dont see it sticking around much longer. There is a whole bunch of crazy stuff that people have AR's built to fire weird stuff.

I'm actually seeing 6.8 at cheaper prices than ever.

so it's either getting more popular or retailers are offloading inventory before pulling the plug.

I am a fan of the round myself. I'm convinced that it is the optimal round to hunt deer in Georgia using an AR-15 lower.
