Finally going to try out my sonic cleaner. What's the best cleaning solutions for sonic cleaners? Do you use different solutions for aluminum parts?

Do you keep the solution in the cleaner when you're done? I'm assuming you can reuse it.

Damn now I'm reading on SilencerTalk sonic cleaners do harm aluminum.
I put aluminum in mine. I've never actually seen or heard of anyone firsthand who had aluminum damaged by a sonic cleaner.

Purple power is fine for aluminum. Regular simple green is not, but the extreme simple green aircraft cleaner is a beast and is specifically designed not to harm aluminum.

Purple power ruined the type III anodizing on my Apex trigger. Ate that stuff right off.

Purple power won't take anodizing off. Maybe something about the ultrasonic, but my guess is shoddy job on the coating.
All I can tell you is that I used a 50/50 mixture of Purple Power and water in my US to clean an M&P. The trigger shoe is machined aluminum with Type III anodizing. A short cycle of about 10 minutes, resulted in about 85% of the anodizing being destroyed

I thought sonic cleaners were for stainless and brass.

Can you use tumbler with media for aluminum ?
