Well, I had a few USPs to play with at work along with a postal scale. For those of you interested or curious, I recorded a few weights and took a few pics. The difference between the compact and the full size aren't all that great...The question becomes is 5.5 oz and maybe 1/4" in height and length and a few mm in grip width losing 4 rounds of capacity.
All Weights are with a loaded magazine.
USP 45 Compact 33.4 oz
USP 45 Stainless 38.9 oz
USP 45 Tactical 40.5 oz
Loaded USP 12 round mag w/ flush base plate 11.3 oz
Loaded USP-C 8 round mag w/finger rest plate 8.4 oz
Loaded USP-C 8 round mag w/flush base plate 8.2 oz
As you can see the biggest portion of the weight difference between the USP 45 and the USP 45 Compact is in the difference in capacity when loaded.
I will mention that the grip on the USP-C is slimmer than the USP-F.
