Stopped by Cabela's while traveling yesterday and they had this stuff on sale so I picked up 8 boxes of it to try out. Looks like it is made in Madrid. 12 gauge buck shot, 2 3/4, 9 pellets. I don't think I would want to get hit by one of these pellets.

The good thing is they were 2.49 per box of 5. That seemed like a very good price to me. They had boxes of 25 for Nearly $19 per box, but they were not on sale. 5 boxes of the smaller boxes (total of 25) were 12.45. :-\
I'm going to shoot some stuff up with these and see how they work. If they work ok, I may go back up there and get a bunch more for that price. They had lots of them too!

It looks like they might be pretty good loads. I'm waiting on your range report. Some videos of them blowing up some stuff would be neat to.

Here is a full size man target shot at 30 ft with my Remington 870 pump shotgun. This is one shot/round! The larger hole in the top right is actually the wad that got imbedded in the target. The paper is stapled to some thin wooden crate material and the wade is embedded in the wooden crate. I also shot up some water filled gallon milk cartons. They pretty much exploded when the buck shot hit them.

This stuff seems pretty good and for the price it appears to be a decent option if you are in the need for some buck shot. When I look on the Cabela's website, it shows the 25 box version of these on sale too, but the 5 box packages are still a little cheaper than buying the 25 round box.

That is one nasty round. Try putting some food coloring in the water next time. Red & Blue works best. Have fun.

I called Cabela's and they said they should be on sale for a few more weeks. I'm going to go back and get me some more. At least 250 more rounds and maybe more. They should not go bad! I'll store them in an ammo container!

I went back today and got some more! ;D I think the next batch I'll look for will be some #2 or #4 loads. I would think they might hurt if you got hit by them.

My wife is trained. Before she throws away a container she asks me if it needs to be shot first.

You are going to make me go to Cabela's and buy some. I have not shot my 870 shotgun in over a year or longer. I have to go get four or five boxes.

Bought a couple of large ammo boxes at a Army surplus store. One of them holds my 295 rounds of buck shot easily. My wife said I should go get 50 more boxes. She is so wise. :)

I used to hand load number 4 buck shot for a deputy.

I think I have #4 birdshot Rich. What is the difference between #4 buck vs #4 birdshot? :-\

Do you feel #4 birdshot (20 ga) is sufficient for a 10-15' range in an apartment SD situation?
