I have 2 P229's, but they are both the standard models. One is 9mm the other is .40. They both shoot good but the 9mm has the SRT so I prefer it over the .40 with the standard trigger. For the money I'd say a regular old plain Jane P229 with a $40 SRT upgrade.

That's a fantastic price for a 229, even in .40!

I have a P229 Extreme with the SRT and really like it. To me, the short reset trigger is a must ever since I had it on a 226. I am interested in the P229C that Sig released, I believe it is using the more compact slide and barrel from the P224. Most are in .40 and .357 but I saw one on the other site in 9mm.

@cmshoot , any experience with the 229C compared to the standard 229?

Had no clue that the P229c existed. I had a P224 for a short time. It was such an awkward gun. It was way too big and clunky for a "subcompact".

I'm just now seeing them out. I'm kind of kicking myself for not picking one up at a gun show. Dealer had it in .40 and was doing a package deal with a .357 barrel, price was mid $800's. I've always liked the shorter barrel of the 224 but the grip was too stubby. This is the full grip of the 229.

So OP, the best 239 may be the 229c :)

Nope! Sorry.

Interesting piece, though.
