When you are selling your firearm in Ohio you must sell it to another Ohio resident. To be sure you should always ask for identification (A state issued drivers license or ID). You should not rely on a CCW license as this isn't a guarantee of residency nor does it display a date of birth. Private party sales between Ohio residents require no paperwork, or proof be shown. However is is possible that if you sell a firearm to someone who is not legally able to own one you could be in trouble....
