Been saving for months towards 2 more pistol cans almost ready to drop the coin. I’ve really been after the Obsidian 45 after shooting one last year at the of the RHR metering days… K configuration doesn’t really interest me, but the dbs and tone are phenomenal. I’ve already got an Octane 45HD and I’ve been keeping my eye on the Octane 45 2.0 since it came out earlier this year but haven’t seen any decent reviews nor do I know anyone that’s gotten one yet.

The 2 new cans will entirely live 6+ different PCCs. Currently everything is direct thread but I’d like to switch them over to 3-lug. I’d keep my current Octane for handgun use only.

At a total difference of over $300 less for a pair of Octane 2.0s vs Obsidians, that will go a long way for mounts…

Like my 45HD a lot... what kind of .45 PCCs? That's something I still don't have- looking for recommendations.

nothing currently in 45... I had a Guard 45 but it was a POS and a camp 45 but I sold it. Currently debating selling a ton of stuff to snatch up a SMG45, but waiting to see some of the issues ironed out.

Gotcha- I think i want to do a AR45 pistol, but not really sure about the lowers... other than the hard to find quarter circle ten.

In for any reviews you guys do on .45 PCCs. No money, but I've wanted on for a long time.

The couple people I knew with smg45s both sold them off. Garand thumbs video also showed some surprising results. Id look into the apc45

look at the dead air ghost 45 too.
I need to look at the octane 45 2.0 to see what all they changed

Between the 2 you have as choices I’d prolly go with Rugged Obsidian 45 ... belt fed rated stainless steel and lifetime warranty

The answer is always to call Jake at QRF. He actually knows the cans, not just what various marketing material tells him to know.

Didnt a Rugged can get panned in a forum here a while back. I have the Octane 45HD also and ran the snot out of it on the M11/9 before I got a dedicated 9mm can. It handles the full auto very well. Now, I just use it for the 1911 and Glock 37.

Always been in the direct thread camp. Sure the mounts are convenient but I never shot a can off a direct thread connection lol

Yep, hence why i'm waiting... one of my neighbors has a smg45 and its had issues with stovepipes and anything touching *the magazine* (like gripping or bumping against a wall/stop) causes it to misfeed. Its currently with LWRC....

I shot a DA Ghost at Creekside a few months back and was considering it as i love me some DA stuff and the crew. but holy cow is it expensive...

*edit: forgot type *the magazine*

I have an Obsidian 45 and I love it.
I never use the short configuration but it is cool to have the option.
I run it on my Glock 21 and 19 and on both my 9MM PCC.

Id stay away from anything DA right now. The new production stuff is having issues with detonating. The last one I saw was on the second round. Welds aren't holding up.
