Today I spent some of my tax returns on a new gun safe. I picked it up at a local gun shop for $715 out the door. It's rated for 45 minutes at 1200 degrees. It's a 36 gun Sentinel. This is about the largest safe I can get down my basement steps. What do you think? Good buy?

What's a tax return? I haven't had one of those in 20 years.

Nice safe. I've had a few sitting around for years. They just keep filling up.

Thanks guys. Hopefully I will get this in place today so I can start filling it up.

Damascus7, did you use the gun rests that came with yours? I think I can fit more in it if I take out the factory gun rests and make some rests that will hold the rifles in rows instead of the 2 "C" shaped rests that come with it.

Good catch. I know someone who puts half of his long guns upside down to increase the amount he can fit in his safe. I don't have enough to worry about it but I am running out of shelf space for pistols/revolvers. May have to move some of the wifes business stuff and other non-firearms items.
