I did the work, but it's not done.. The new sights are way too tall at .360 in the rear
and .200 in the front.. The rear will be getting cut down and the Dawson Prec. RFO front
replaced w/ a Tritium .140T sight.. The now abreviated grip safety will also be blacked out
when I break out the Dura-Coat again..

That some change you've made. I still have the original look on a Custom Shop Super Carry Pro that I have.

So do I. She's a great shooter, especially on an indoor range. Lots of boom and the flames fly. I bought it as a retirement/birthday gift when I retired in January 2012. I've always wanted a Kimber and got tired of just looking at them through the display case glass like a kid in a candy store.

Gunfixer....Where did you get all that talent from..... 8)

I like the rear sight the way it is now.... :p

Sorry, I didn't know anyone had responded here..
I've been workin' w/ and on firearms for 28+ years..
I like the looks of that rear sight too, but it makes me need
to use a .200! tall front sight which is just TOO tall on a carry gun;
I have actually cut down, refinished and replaced the rear w/ a .325H
and the front is now a .140H tritium night sight.. I will post pics of it as it is now
maybe tonight if anyone wants to see the final product. 8)

So.. I took a standard small hole SS Colt hammer and milled it out to 5/16" and then a carbide
6 flute countersink and chamfered it to the inside edges of the cocking serrations and bead blasted it w/ #80 glass.
Then I honed the primary and secondary engagements matching it w/ an E.B. match sear; truly the perfect Crisp
3.5# trigger now, not to mention that I think it looks terrific! ;D
Next I took that too tall (.375) 10-8 rear sight and milled it down to .325, milled the rear serrations off of it,
re-cut a low cocking notch on the front ledge and serrated it and matte blued it.

I think it's even better than I'd imagined it would look, now..!

The other cool part was that a bud of mine and I went out last Sat. and I put 500 flawless
rounds through it after having problems w/ 1 SS Shooting Star mag. ('Switched to 3, WC 47's)
(1st round was an absolute dead on Bullseye at 15 yds., after only a quick laser bore-sighting.!) ;D

'Hope you all like it.! :D
