Alright guys, need some thoughts. I'm looking to pick-up another threaded 1911 to add to my collection and I'm torn between a new Kimber Desert Warrior TFS and Para BlackOps Combat.

I've never owned a Kimber, but have read plenty about thee Desert Warriors (and others). Looks like the older, early 2000s Kimber Desert Warriors had finish issues. And of course there's the age-old "stance" about Kimbers jamming....

I've owned a Para Expert Commander and Elite 5" before and had no issues with either once dumping the crap factory mags. From what I've read online, some BlackOps Combats shoot low from the factory and the magazines suck (no surprise).

Both cost about the same, so thats moot. So what say you?

For the price range you're looking at I'd consider a Dan Wesson Vigil. You're gonna get a MUCH better 1911 than any Kimber or Para.

They were both designed 107 years ago and function as such. Airplanes and cars from that same era are equally as impressive for modern use...

Yeah, do this. You run a pretty high risk of getting a pile of garbage with the kimber or para.

Not feeling the style, and the best I've found is $3-400 more than the Kimber...

Desert Warrior is around $1,250, give or take a few dollars...

Vigil is around $1,200 give or take...

Most places I've seen the DW is actually cheaper than the Kimber. Every Dan Wesson I've ever had has been as nice as some of my custom 1911's.

If you're looking for a railed 1911 with a threaded barrel and you're looking for a Kimber get the TLE II R/L TFS. The TLE II is the only Kimber that I'd ever recommend to anyone. I've owned a bunch of Kimbers over the years, and the TLE II is the only one I still have. You can ask @FatAlbert, he will vouch for how nice that gun is. It is fit so well that he had trouble getting it back together after cerakoting it.

Buy this instead. It'll work, and be more accurate. Win/win

The AR15 is 55 years old and so is the Chevy Corvair so therefore since the Corvair sucked so does the AR15. I am correct, because reasons.
Still 44 years newer than a 1911...

Desert Warrior TFS is $999 local.... Maybe I need to get both?
