Is it worth buying a different lower for my AR

My AR is a complete BCM upper on a PSA lower. The OCD in me wants to buy a BCM lower so its all the same. But the rational part of me is trying to figure out why I need to spend $400 on a lower. The BCM lower does have their A5 system and their enhanced LPK.

Is there any really functional reason to spend $400 for the BCM?

I'm the same way. Figure out home much it would cost to add he A5 and BCM enhanced LPK to your PSA if they are something you desire. There is your answer

That $400 will in turn make you buy a new upper for that PSA lower you'll now have sitting around.
Nothing wrong with that, I think he's been considering a x39 build anyway ;)

Those are nice, but I am content with my milspec trigger and regular buffer. I am just wondering if there is a quality difference between the two when it comes to long term use.

That was what I was thinking I would do with it, but if there is not a practical reason to buy a $400 lower I could still buy a cheaper lower and have extra money toward a new build.

No, only way I will have another x39 will be an AK or something like a CMMG mutant or the PSA version of it.

I have the BCM LPK and love it. It is on my Aero SBR lower. I can't justify spending a ton of money on a lower, what makes these well known brand name stripped lowers worth so much money?

Spend the 400 bucks. Two weeks after Hillary wins the election sell the PSA lower for 350.

If you don't shoot much, and can get past them not matching, no real reason to upgrade.

On the other hand, parts are plentiful and affordable right now. Who knows about next month.
If you do high volume shooting, you will start to see where spending more money on quality components comes in.

Ask your wife of its worth spending an additional $400 on the exact same part with a different name stamped on it and report back.

Edited to add... Also explain that, obviously, you will need to drop another $350 on a PSA upper to complete the newly liberated lower.

I'm mostly wondering if the actual receiver is better in any way. I can always swap internals out if I need to. I'm just wondering if the BCM lower has better longevity then the PSA for any reason.

This is coming out of my secret squirrel gun fund. If I did do it the PSA lower would end up with a 9mm upper for her to shoot anyway.

The only difference is the roll mark.
