Interesting find

Since we haven't had a post in over 4 hours I thought I'd just through this out there.
Found this old box of 410 shells at an estate sale last weekend and bought it for $5 bucks. Thought they looked kinda neat! Don't know if they're worth anything or how old they are but they're a neat conversation piece!

Those old shells are real neet.
Are the case heads made of zinc instead of brass?
Do they have a roll crimp or a star crimp?

The heads appear to be brass a I'm assuming it's a roll crimp with a 6 (#6 shot) plug in the end.

I have two boxes of real old 12GA shot shells.

One is No 4 shot, roll crimp, zinc heads.

The other is No 6 shot, roll crimp, brass head.

In your 2nd pic Rich, you're shell says #4 shot and your box says #6 shot.

Are these paper or plastic shotshell? The 410 are paper.

You're right about the shot size being wrong. But there is something else wrong.

Both 12 GA are paper hulls.

The last photo has a Remington shell shown. I think it's also a plastic hull.

I thought it looked plastic in my old eyes! Yeah, Sureshot is Remington. Have to start calling Rich tricky Dickie!

I'm thinking that Rich's second photo also has Remington shells shown (just like the third picture). The brass bases are the same in both the second and third photos.

I've had those 2 boxes for 50 years.
The second box is full of Remington paper shells.
I never noticed that till I posted it and seen it was marked clean bore.

I really remember boxes of shells with this logo, and colors. Fun treat to see these Rich!

I was cleaning out a rental property and found a full box of Western X .25AP Oilproof cartridges. I already had a box that looked the same as these that my Grandpa left me with his Baby Browning that are no telling how old, but this box I found has metal corners on the interior slide in box.
