I can see the benefits, and the negatives, of having a weapon light, but I personally am not a fan of them. I didn't really mean in general though, I just meant on this gun. Adding a weapon light on this gun would be awkward and bulky since it would hang lower than the trigger guard rather than in front of it.
Yeah on this gun the rail is dumb.

My view on weapon lights, and guns in general changed when I had a kid. I didn't use to be as big a fan of them as I am now.

I'm looking forward to trying one out. I've paid twice as much for a 9mm that held half as many rounds, and the mags were expensive anyways. If I liked it enough, I'd buy one.

I don't think I'd mind the rail, but if I did I could just grind it off.

Obviously not the same, but shot a Steyr M9A1 today for the first time. Loved it. Bullseye had a threaded model for 519. May need that.

According to Hudson's website, it's a steel frame. A USGI M1911A1 weighs about 39oz.

It sounds like it maps to a Commander size all around, so its right in the norm for 30 oz if alloy, 35-36 oz if steel. I know they're not Ruger, but the MSRP there on an SR1911 is $991 (street ~$750??) maybe Hudson will come in under a thousand.

I really like to see folks try something a bit new (I'm also partial to commander 1911s).
