Only problem is those are generally used to house security equipment.

I would think a burglar would want to break into it to disable the contents.

They'll be hidden away in an area that that won't be a problem.

go behing your air filter if you have one accesible from inside

You mean for your a/c?

Brilliant!

Guns may be dusty when you pull them out but they would not be stolen.

Yes build a shelf if it is on a crawl, if not just set in on the slab. one of those small fireproof safes would work well in case of fire and make items easier to grab if leaving

In a couple years when we buy a new house, I am going to get several of those "tactical wall" things to spread around the house.

Just cut out the Sheetrock and secure it to a stud.

Put a family photo frame in front of said hidden safe and never tell a soul.

Maybe one in the bathroom and one in a hallway to the bedrooms.

At least that would be another idea than hiding it so good it's a pain in the butt to get to....

And this is somebody coming in a house toting 6 foot pry bars expecting a safe. Not your run of the mill bugler. You notice how the first thing the did was flip it over. The safe I have is in a tight corner bolted to floor joist and wall studs. They won't move it and the dang sure wont be able to use 6 foot bars cause the space I have left them to work with won't allow it. Proper planning when putting a safe in the home is key. I have had my house broke into and my safe was not breached. Not saying it can't be but a common crook won't have what it takes.

Hidden places are a great alternative to safes and can be as secure, provided their location is kept a secret. All it takes is one person to talk about it and it is not a secret any more. The same goes with a safe as well. The fewer people that know you have one keeps you from being a target as well. There are so many YouTube videos out about safe cracking and hidden locations that thieves can be pretty smart about where to look. Your best bet is to come up with your own version of secret storage that is not readily available. There are even some idiots that do this but have to show off to others about how ingenious they are that they too post a video about it.
