BO6 Rivals Event Start Date & Delay

Originally scheduled to go live on June 12, the Rivals event has been quietly delayed. Although the blog post still lists June 12, no in-game countdown has appeared — a telltale sign that the event is pushed back. It’s now expected to begin on June 19, alongside a Double XP & Double Weapon XP event that will run through June 24.

How the Rivals Event Works

The Rivals event is XP-based, meaning you can earn rewards simply by playing and accumulating XP — no challenges required.

Total XP Required to Complete Event: 622,000 XP
With only 7 days to grind, this sounds intimidating — but the Double XP week essentially cuts it in half to around 311,000 base XP needed.

Full List of Rivals Event Rewards

Below is the complete reward track for the BO6 Rivals Event, based on early gameplay leaks and datamined info:

Gameplay Preview: Strider 22 & Grim Reaper
Strider 22 Fire Mod

This new three-round burst conversion fires automatically while the trigger is held. While not meta-defining, it offers a fresh playstyle. You sacrifice your mag and barrel slots to equip it. It’s fun to use, but don’t expect it to shake up competitive play.

Available to test in Private Match.
Grim Reaper Scorestreak

Returning from classic Black Ops, the Grim Reaper is a rocket launcher scorestreak requiring 950 score. It’s a one-shot kill but features a slower fire rate. Interestingly, the launcher emits smoke on impact, which can help with escapes — though it may obscure your own vision as well.

Available to test in Private Match.
Shatter Blast – New Zombies Ammo Mod

While the Shatter Blast mod isn’t accessible in Private Match, it is unlockable at 43,000 XP and will become usable in Zombies once unlocked. Some players may get early access through random drops from Elemental Pop.

Pro Tips for Finishing the Event Quickly

Play during Double XP (June 19–24) – You’ll cut XP time in half.

Grind fast-paced modes like Domination, Hardpoint, or Zombies for max XP gain.

Use Double XP Tokens wisely — one is available in the event at 299,000 XP.

Prioritize team-based modes for consistent score streaks and match bonuses.

While this may not be the most exciting event in Black Ops 6 history, the Grim Reaper Scorestreak and Sworn Rivals blueprint are still worth grinding. With Double XP aligning perfectly, even casual players should be able to finish this in a week.
