The best mod you can do for a 10/22 is the slingshot bolt release.

It takes a minute with a dremel and 3 with a pin file.

Taking out the magazine disconnect is normally very easy on many pistols and often doesn't require buying anything.

Are these hacks? I don't feel Russian.

I've debated on doing the bolt release on my 10/22. Have you done it to yours? No regrets?

i use the plastic zip ties to attach a flash light to my AR. super cheap and decently effective...also allows for quick removal (with knife or heavy duty scissors) when you don't want to carry the extra weight.

you can also use duct tape but it looks even worse.

I plan on doing this to mine. Maybe tomorrow.

Let me know how it works. Did you ever undercut your Glock?
No. I figured if I have it sent out to have the rest of the grip work done I'll just let them do it. I do still plan to do it to my G43 eventually though.

You can tie wrap your sling to your handguard for a custom length hand stop on the fly.

Add Vet wrap and some pipe foam to your stock for a perfect cheek weld and eye relieve for a buck. And it's more comfortable than a bunch more expensive options.

The bolt release mod is a no brainer. The only downside is the bolt doesn't lock open.

I do it on everyone I've ever owned. I literally won't shoot it until I've "fixed" it. I did one at an Appleseed event during lunch because a kid was having problems releasing the bolt.

What else do you do to your 10/22? I just bought one and am trying to plan out what I'm going to do to it.

Have you upgraded the trigger yet? The BX trigger is very affordable and I really like it on mine. And are you running irons or an optic? If you are gonna use irons upgrade that to some tech sights. Both of those upgrades are on my takedown. I'll bring it if we get to shoot here soon.

I'll do the trigger eventually. I plan on a 2-7x for it

I don't go full on custom builds. I'll put aperature sights on and either work the trigger or put a bx25 in if I catch it on sale. Put a Kidd style or polymer bolt buffer in. I just bought a upgraded bolt for mine that's radiused, headspaced, and has a captured firing pin, I think it was like $60. Before that j had radiused my own bolt, polished the bolt surfaces, where the trigger rides.

@freedom thanks for taking me into it. Super easy, and I'm loving the easy bolt release! @AtlMedic do it! You won't be sorry!

How did you do it?
Popped the trigger pack out, slid two pins out, put it in the vice, 10 seconds with a dremel, and presto. Easy peasy! There is a pin at the top of the trigger pack and one at the very bottom that holds the bolt release and mag release. Those are the only ones you need to take out.
