I have held out from the bug for the past 5 years. Tonight I fucked up.

I should say, deep down I am a 1911 whore. I carry a Glock, but there are more 1911s in my safe than any other handgun. I carried a 1911 IWB for thr better part of 10 years and it wasn't until about 5 years ago that I made a complete switch to Glock.

Sure in the past I had carried Glocks before, hell I even had a spell with XDs, but I always went back to my all steel government warhorse. At least until about 5 years ago.

Today I picked up that Desert Warrior in trade and I knew better, but I couldn't help it and I went out tonight and shot about 100 rounds.

Shit.

Tomorrow I will be putting my old trusty Glock 23 back in thr safe and I will be strapping on my old favorite. My all steel government model.

Believe it or not, with all the nice 1911s I have in the safe, the gun I will be putting on is my old beat to shit 10,000 round Taurus PT1911. There isn't much Taurus about it anymore, and the finish is gone, but I know it like the back of my hand, and it doesn't make me cry when I bang it on something.

Shemp, I don't even want to hear it.

Let's see how many days I last before I say , "Fuck it," and switch back to my much lighter Glock.

halfway through the day and I still don't even notice the big all steel 40 oz gun on my hip. I forgot how easy it is to carry a big gun with a good holster and belt.

I am carrying my USP 45 today and am very surprised at how easy it is to carry. Still, the right shirt was a must. That grip tho...

I know why it works...

You dropped a shittonne of weight. That is why it has become a new part of you

a 1911 is actually slimmer than a Glock 23. It weighs more, but my biothane belt and crossbreed holster don't give a fuck about how much it weighs.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA........HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

And here I nearly divested myself of ALL my 1911s. What a world we live in.

Glad to hear it though!

yep...belt and holster are KEY to comfortable 1911 carry.

I have been toying with the idea of carrying the HK45C now instead of a 1911. I know.

It's the old form vs function. NOTHING feels as comfortable or is as naturally pointable/accurate as a 1911 in my hands. The HKs are just multiverses away in terms of reliability. 1911s are supremely comfortable to carry if you're not a girl.

HK 45 solves some of that problem...but not completely.

Did you really need to say fuck?

I get it... But I was trying to make a positive out of that. Oh never mind.

I bought it with the intention of breaking it. Never broke and it was too beat up after to sell so it became my EDC. Many of the Taurus parts have gone bye bye and have been replaced with better stuff.

I wont carry a 1911 with a ambidextrous safety IWB so I swapped the original with a Kings.

ooops, hit a metal door jam with it in a training class.

The checkering on the MSH of the kimber speed chute was too aggressive so I beat the shit out of it with a hammer to remove the sharp points
