So I need a new book to read. I just finished the jack reacher series, I loved the Dirk pitt books by Clive cussler, a the books written by Dale Brown.

I like military, detective, mild sci-fi type stuff.

I prefer series but not against a single book. So give me some recommendations.

Have you read any Stephen Coonts?

I recently received "The Assassin", but haven't had a chance to start it yet

I really loved the Dirk pitt books and the Oregon files. I've read some Stephen coonts books. They are alright, I may have to look at those.

If you can find them (OOP) the Casca series by Barry Sadler is fantastic. You must start with book one. I think there are 24 books and every one deals with a different war/conflict/civilization over the last 2100 years.

There is a book written by James Bradley about the Pacific Theater in WWII. It is fascinating and explains why the war happened in the first place, in a way I've never seen before. I have read it 3 times now. Note, there is a movie by the same name but I is in no way related to this book.

I like the reacher/ dirk pitt books as well, looking for new series too.

You could go back to an old favorite of mine, remember Nero Wolfe?

I'll start checking into all these. I read fast so I burn through a book in 3 or 4 days.
