I want to build an AR15 pistol and from the limited research I've done I think a 300 blackout pistol maybe the way to go with this. I'm always open to suggestions though as I do not have much of a clue about this road we're all about to embark down :D

So if you were going to build an AR15 pistol what parts would you use?

Are you talking like we give a parts list, then you buy it and put it together?

Are you just trying to do a complete lower, and a complete upper and going from there, or are you looking to break it down further and build a really bottom up type of build?

Also what type of budget are we talking?

Yes exactly like that. It doesn't matter how the parts come long as we get everything we need. Then at the end it'll be raffled off to a forum member.

Budget should stay under 1500 though.

$105 so not to terribly priced, will leave room for plenty of extras.
Most of them are completely out of stock from AP. I'll keep looking and see what turns up. May just end up getting a complete lower and going from there.

How about a Midwest Industries lightweight and super slim key-mod hand guard. Makes for a really nice and light pistol.

I'm trying to find a 9" barrel but feel free to correct me if it should be longer/shorter I was able to find an 8" one from AP at a decent price it seemed (8" .300 Blackout CMV Barrel, Pistol Length | Aero Precision)

Maybe an easier route to just get the 10.5 in barrel from MI and add the BCG and charging handle to it.

You will want to stay with a 9" barrel when it comes to 300 AAC Blackout ammo. You will want the hand guard to be 9" or shorter. You can not put a hand guard that will cover the muzzle device or the hand guard will blow up.

When you buy the keymod rail, also pick up the gas block to save 9.99 or so over buying it separate.

I created a spreadsheet for you to keep track of everything easier and you'll know what you need to buy as this could get real confusing real fast for you I think.

Also for a scope I suggest something mid range like a vortex SPARC II they can be found for $199 new or even less.

There are a variety of 9" barrels out there available. Even a few 8.5" but then you'll need to make sure the muzzle device extends past your handguard.
