I stopped in a local gun shop this summer and found this gem. I wasn't really looking for a Garand but I have always wanted one. It's a 1942 Springfield with an issued stock and came with a cleaning kit. The stock has a few bruises and shows use, but has not been abused. Here are a couple pictures, let me know what you think.

Thanks Rich. This is part 1 of my WWII US collection. I have a '42 Remington 03-A3 being delivered to my door any day now.

Very nice Bubba! It's hard to find those 1940 era ones. My good friend bought one through the CMP a few years ago. His was built in 1954. The op rod in it was slightly bent (but still functional), so he had another one put in and keeps the old one as a spare. They are a blast to shoot. Love the ching sound when the clip flies out after the last round. I hope to get one myself someday. IMHO, they are one of the finest rifles ever made. Congrats!

I think CMP uses aftermarket stocks on some guns but the rest of the gun is close to original.... :p
