About 50% of why I want a .50 is for the giant bolt and the giant empty case being ejected from the gun. I can never afford a barrett though.

Hahaha:

I am not going to lie to you, this gun has punishing recoil in a light package and is not the most fun to shoot. At 17 pounds, it is a full 10 pounds lighter than a McMillan TAC 50. It is the lightest .50 single shot that I have ever fired. Without the muzzlebrake, I don’t think you could fire this thing without body damage resulting. I have burned up some magnum rifle ammo in my day, so this isn’t new guy jitters.

This rifle is a testament to American ingenuity, and I give it 5 stars, but please don’t make me shoot it again.

WTF... what a pain in the ass to have to reload! I would just prefer a bolt action if nothing else!

Honestly I would like to see someone make an inexpensive one that's either a bolt action or break action. That threaded set up just seems like more work than I want to mess with. It also seems a little crude for a gun that costs that much, its the same set up I've seen a lot of home made guns use.

The problem is that the barrel blanks are dumb expensive cause they use so much material and so few people make them, and they are either ultra tough for machine gun use, or ultra precision for something like a mcmillan tac 50.

I played with this at shot show, and while it seems cumbersome on paper, its really not a big deal in real life. Especially considering street price is under 1k. At 3-6 bucks a shot, you generally arent trying to sling them down range as fast as possible.

I also would be super cautious with a typical break action style. Yea it might be faster to reload, but they arent the strongest action, and a 50 produces over 13,000 ft lbs of energy lol. I like the added safety of the threaded breech.

There's the .50BMG upper for an AR that's not TERRIBLE. Either that or the LAR Grizzly.

So what your saying is we should see a integrally suppressed .50 single shot from the fine folks at KGmade soon?
