    Geissele SD-E trigger

Shot it yet? I'm hoping my kitchen perception changes this weekend.

    Geissele SD-E trigger

This isn't a review yet, more of a first impression. I have to say I'm a bit disappointed at this point. It's a 2-stage trigger, 2lbs to set and 1.5lbs to pull. I don't have a way to measure it, but that seems right. The first pull is consistent and repeatable, the second is light and crisp. I...

The perfect ammo for suppressor use?

I've seen fragments from the same bullet catch my shirt and cut the cheek on the guy next to me. IDPA style targets on hangers at 75 yards. The theory was it was swinging back when my .223 round hit. We stopped shooting steel per instructor orders at the point.

The perfect ammo for suppressor use?

The article said they recovered 50% less fragments when shooting steel targets. I'm assuming what they didn't recover atomized when hitting the steel plate. Well I reread it. I'm not sure now since it never states how much was recovered within 5 yards.

The perfect ammo for suppressor use?

Would 12% less friction mean the ability to engage the rifling is diminished by 12%? Atomizing more of the lead doesn't necessarily sound like a benefit. How much cleaner is it compared to a TMJ round like the Speer?

Recipe Tips / recipes for grilling corn on the cob?

My wife made a corn salad this weekend that was good. I think it had green onions, tomato, cucumber and a little jalapeño in it, maybe something else too. The dressing was mayo, avocado, lime juice and cilantro blended up I believe. But I smoked the corn around 225 for an hour with pecan...

Recipe Tips / recipes for grilling corn on the cob?

Pull the husks back and desilk. Cover in a mixture of half butter, half mayo with salt, pepper and grated Parmesan. Tie the husks back with twine or a twist of aluminum foil at the top and grill.

    Making your own heavy buffer

They all sound so good in theory.

    Making your own heavy buffer

This doesn't work. The recreated buffer weighs either the same as the carbine buffer or a little less with hand weighing. It definitely weighs less than a Colt H buffer. Anybody want to buy some tungsten powder?

    AR Triggers

I just got the flat faced SD-E. I offered someone 210 for a used one, rejected, last week and got it today for 190 shipped. I've never spent more than $100 for a trigger. I hope my rifle skill is now to the point that I can take advantage of it.

    Anybody have this trigger?

Well I hope it's not 3 months but I was aware it would be quite a wait.

    Anybody have this trigger?

They say minimum 4 weeks, I read some were waiting 10 weeks.

    Do You Co-Witness

At the last one for the boy scouts we had little explosive targets at 100 for the boys to hit, but most couldn't. I think they were 3 or 4". I took one shot standing, hit one, and didn't take another. Kyle turner did it first and I couldn't let it stand without an answer. I also only took one...

    Do You Co-Witness

    Do You Co-Witness

No, elberton. Farmhouse you can bunk in with showers or camp on site, but not me in the summer. A true KD, not that sissy one where you don't even get tired and sweaty.

    Do You Co-Witness

Tell Brian you'll take an orange hat when you qualify and they'll probably let you come to the instructor clinic if you're interested. I'll be glad to ask.

    Do You Co-Witness

It's easier to make rifleman at a KD, as long as you don't let shooting 400 yards mess with your mind. One target, so no shifting targets so you don't keep having to reestablish NPOA, and you can take a few more seconds to get it right. I'm a bigger proponent of BSZ after the last one I...

KD Appleseed. Then you can learn the theory and put it into practice.

How far you're shooting doesn't matter, it's about the ballistics of the round.

I would keep the standard BSZ for your irons, 300 yard FZ, and maybe a 100yard or 50/200 yard zero for the dot.
