    Teach me about reloading..

The only "issue" with a progressive press is the automatic powder drops. They just don't drop extruded (stick) powder well, and that is typically what you load rifle with, although there is ball powder. Some extruded powders drop better than others. You can load accurate rifle rounds just...

    Teach me about reloading..

Chris pretty well mentioned everything except where I use different stuff. Case Cleaning: Started with the corncob/walnut, then went to a rotary tumbler with ceramic media worked pretty nice, then replaced ceramic with stainless steel. I will never use anything again any case comes out...

Putting A Tracer Round In Every 10-15 Bullets?

If your barrel isn't chrome lined you are going to eat away at the barrel specifically the throat quicker. Heat is the enemy of a barrel and you're putting a lot of unnecessary heat in your barrel. Plus a lot of clubs/ranges do not allow tracers or AP ammo.

Steel cased ammo in your ar/ak builds

With the AR rifles one think you have to be careful with is the lacquer that the steel cases are coated with. As that builds up in the chamber functioning will be a problem. AK's have looser tolerances so isn't as much of a problem. Just clean out your chamber after a range session and you...

    Hunting Rifles?

While there are no historical data backing numbers it has been said the 30-06 has killed more North American game than any other cartridge. That would be a good place to start. After that you have your .30cal magnums, with the Win Mag or the 300 WSM probably being the two most popular. Any of...

    Ar15 Accessories?

As far as helping accuracy. Most importantly you want to free float the barrel either via a quad rail or a float tube if you are going to use A2 hand guards. Also don't have a sling attachment point on the barrel. If you do and sling up it will affect the accuracy. Have the sling swivel on...

    Bolt Action .308

I've never shot factory ammo always loaded my own. If you reload let me know if you want to loads for the above ammo you mentioned.

    Bolt Action .308

Yup, shoots nice, the Mk316 actually shoots nicer, but in either case for the shooting the OP is doing the 175gr SMK is a little overkill. Ironically both of these are loads that the highpower community has been using for ages (as with the Mk262 also). However the government needed to spend...

    Teach me about reloading..

I have a Dillon 550 it is nice for pistol and blasting ammo. I will also use it for the shortline (200/300yd) ammo for the service rifles and a couple of the course match rifles. However there is an with the powder hopper it doesn't drop extruded powder accurately enough for the longer lines...

    Rifle Cleaning/maintainence Question?

As far as a bore cleaner I use Ed's Red. The recipe can be found various places on the internet. It is a formulation of the old Frankfort Arsenal Formula No. 18. As far as oil, save yourself money and use Mobile 1 Synthetic motor oil. Chemically that is essentially what all the firearms oil...

    Bolt Action .308

The issue with the steel cases is typically the lacquer that is on them as that will gum up a chamber over time, although not normally an issue with a bolt gun. For just plinking just get some M80 surplus and go have fun, Lake City or IMI would be my recommendation. Save the brass so when you...
