    Feelin' a bit petty

I can't give any advice as good as what's already been given here. But please know that you always have a shoulder to lean or cry on here. Deepest condolences, my friend.

The most effective hardware for home defense

No doubt. I still miss my dogs every day. Thanks Trigger_1, I appreciate the compliment. 16 rounds of 125 grain 9mm GDHPs at 1350 feet per second should take care of business. I hope.

    Hello all...

Glad to hear that all is well with you and yours. I always enjoy reading your posts, both here and at "the other place."

    What was your first handgun?

Beretta 96 FS. That was the start of my addiction. :D

    Beretta 96 FS

The bad news: I saved a few bucks, but I did not buy new Trijicons for my Beretta. The good news: I picked up a Mossberg 500 Persuader instead.

    M&P Shield

Thanks for posting the pic, Kokopelli. You really helped me out with the photo; my friend with the Shield that I mentioned in my earlier post has the same sights on his Glock 36. I shot it several months ago and really liked those sights for self defense purposes, but I always forget to ask...

    Rimfire additions for the kids

As others stated before, nice rimfires sir. I've got the Colt M4 .22 AR and my buddy has the M&P like yours. We both have 4 mags, and let me tell you what; you can throw PILES of 22 brass with 2 people shooting at a dualing tree!

    M&P Shield

Thanks for the review, Kokopelli. The Shield is definitely at the top of my want list. (Haven't decided if I'm going to buy the 9 or the 40) One of the guys that I shoot with bought a Shield, and his opinion mirrors yours. We both have full sized M&Ps, so the Shield only makes sense. (I'm...

    Kimber Solo - what's up?

I'm certainly not trying to sell anyone a Solo; you absolutely should carry what you trust and train with. However, in all fairness it's important to note one fact he mentioned indirectly is that he is reviewing a very early model. (He mentions that the Solo Carry Stainless moldel is not yet...

    Kimber Solo - what's up?

Thank you for the information, bigdogdaddy. I think you are exactly right. Here's what I posted back in June: I've been wondering what changes Kimber made, and I think you hit the nail on the head. I had not heard about them changing the magazines, but that certainly explains 2 things: 1...

    Kimber Solo - what's up?

Just out of curiosity, from whom are you hearing this? Personal friends, other range members, or just on internet forums? I ask because my Solo has been flawless after hundreds of rounds, including ammo that is not on Kimber's "recommended list." Several other members of our range have Solos...

    Should I ???

I like it. Now we need a range report, and a picture of the target with the bullseye shot out!

9mm Is that a Crimson Trace in your pocket?

Thanks Ray & mukwah. Ray, I've had zero issues/malfunctions/complaints so far. Here's my initial report (scroll down to the 2nd post): http://www.compactcarryforum.com/index.php/topic,207.msg1238.html#msg1238 I'm planning to shoot more this weekend to sight in my laser. If I get the chance...

9mm Is that a Crimson Trace in your pocket?

As a side note that's been stated before, it's posts like Rich's that makes this such a great forum. Just yesterday, I was reading a post by a new member of another gun forum. He was basically asking for some advice about his new gun. He stated that he joined the forum because the website is...

9mm Is that a Crimson Trace in your pocket?

Good point, Rich; thanks for the suggestion. I hope to try it out today. I'm going to take your advice and sight it in at 50' and check accuracy at 21'.

9mm Is that a Crimson Trace in your pocket?

Added a Crimson Trace Lasergrip to my Solo today. This is my 2nd CT purchase, and I'm really impressed with the quality of their products. It's supposed to be pre-sighted at the factory to 50'; I'm thinking about sighting it in for about half that distance.

I think this is going to be a popular room

Try a newer serial numbered Kimber Solo, 3Coyotes. They are amazingly accurate for a gun with a 2-2/3" barrel.

What are you planning on acquiring in the next 12 months?

I'm waiting for a good deal on a S&W M&P 22. I probably shoot my M&P 357/40/9mm more than any of my other guns, and I would love to have a cheaper option in terms of ammo with similar handling.
