I was going to look closely at that also...the wood matches each other though. I wanted to see if the gas tube was serialized and matched. Nothing just stands out to me to indicate that it's not all original, but some of that is just my gut feeling. But I'm hesitant to jump for sure. I do...

Went back to look at the SKS today but I had to look from behind the counter since they were busy. The slot in the stock for the blade bayonet is definitely factory but the sling mount is on the bottom instead of on the side. Not sure what gives. I'm intrigued, just curious what the story is.

Hell I'm invested $1K for a can, I can afford to try a $100 charging handle, win or lose. And it's not even $100 EXTRA when you consider what a standard upgraded charging handle would have cost...say BCM Mod 4 which is what I probably would have bought.

Something I need to ask. I couldn't find a serial number on the stock. Also it has a bottom mounted sling swivel. It SHOULD have a side mounted swivel and a serial number?

My wife's Explorer has the 3.5 or 3.6 V6. Same engine family, thank God it's not the EcoBoost. I throttle the hell out of my car and get the same if not better mpg than her car. Other than that, the Explorer is a great vehicle so far. 3rd row seating as well, should we ever need it.

My only complaints about the Explorers is the mpg.
